The basic purpose and concept of this web site is to showcase the photography and artwork of Shawna Stucky. The design philosophy has been centered on a strong attention to detail and keeping navigation simple. The developer’s of this site endeavor to improve the design while keeping the focus on the photography.

This web site was born out of the ashes of various art focused web design courses Shawna had taken at Penn State University. The first of those courses that pushed her to publish her work on the web was Introduction To Computer Graphics, ART 201, Spring 2003 taught by Jerry Maddox. Later she enrolled in Independent Study, ART 296, Fall 2004 mentored by Keith Shapiro. Her work for ART 296 was focused on developing a professional and well polished on-line web portfolio as well as a portable digital portfolio to showcase her photography.

Shawna’s husband, David, has been a significant resource and foundation of encouragement throughout the development of her on-line portfolio. David’s background and work as a network administrator gives him a strong understanding of what it takes to support those that create web site content. As this web site moved from the academic to professional world, Shawna and David realized that the entire endeavor had become a collaborative project allowing Shawna to develop and showcase her photography while allowing David to develop new web design skills.
